Buying a home in Spain for the first time is a very daunting experience. Then trying to furnish it is equally as challenging. This is where you need to involve the experts. Matt & Nicky As you know I did a lot of research both on the internet and in person when I came out for 5 days at the end of May to look for furniture for our house at La Torre. I eventually bought most of the major items from you as I believed that the quality of your furniture was better than your rivals at similar or cheaper prices. Susan & I were happy to put a bit of effort into searching for the right things but in reality we could have sorted everything out in one visit. Nevertheless we don't regret regular visits & thanks for dealing with my endless emails with such speed and patience. I also appreciate the after sales has been excellent with no problem arranging visits to sort out minor matters, putting up pictures etc. The other thing I really appreciated was your help with producing what we feel is a unique & beautiful dining table. It was fantastic to be able to have an input into having it made to suit us & our visitors have all said how attractive it is. As you know, there were items which I thought I would buy elsewhere, going a bit down market and saving a few quid but came back to you a few times to buy them from SFS to get value for money. Susan & I hope to be living full time at La Torre in a few years so we expect to be long term customers who now consider you both as friends. Buying a property abroad was always a bit of a daunting prospect for me, especially as I was doing it on my own. To be honest, I was concerned about the whole furnishing process, not just that I would not be able to find the things I wanted but mainly because I realised it would be very easy for an unscrupulous person to take advantage of my naivety. Also, not being able to tell one end of a screwdriver from another, I was always going to have to rely on someone else to help me out. I have never had any doubt at all that you would sort everything out..... Hi Matt,

This is just a note to thank yourself and Nicki for all your help, expertise, patience, and unfailing courtesy in dealing with the fitting out and furnishing of the four units. We would certainly have struggled without you as dealing with a “blank canvas” proved far more difficult than Trish and I thought. We were getting more and more confused until we were recommended to you.

After visiting your showroom last time we went to the Terrazas de la Torre unit and saw the finished article for the first time, and I can see why Frances and family were so full of praise when they stayed there. It is just as good as the unit on Riquelme we spent so long over with you, and your own choice of pictures and accessories for Terrazas was spot on. Our original letting agent put the Riquelme unit straight into his “Premier “ section and we have had nothing but good reports on comfort as well as the look of the unit ,and even my rotten back approves of the beds!

It was great to find one place where everything could be organised, covering lighting, air conditioning, white goods, and indeed absolutely everything needed to simply walk in and enjoy staying there. Perhaps I should not tell you this, but I also came to the conclusion that your Spanish furniture not only looks Spanish, and thus very suitable for what are, after all, Spanish apartments, but also compares well on a value for money/quality comparison. You did not bat an eyelid when I turned the dining chair upside down on our first visit; something my late father, who used to be in the trade, always did.

Now we can not wait to see the Mar Menor 2 units finished. Will a bit more room to play with I think we will be well pleased, and it was a relief to discover that you can sort out the “missing” work surface, the awfully high breakfast bar, and the ridiculous hand basins in the en suite bathroom alongside your usual services.

I do hope the back is feeling better today, and that you will be fit for golf soon.

Frequentley asked questions

Q.     Do I have to visit the showroom to choose my package?

a.  No. Although obviously preferable we can offer a full service via the internet and email to enable you to have  a full range of choices.

Q.    How long does it take to furnish my properties once agreeing to go ahead?

a. All properties would normally be completed within 6 weeks of placing an order. (This may alter occasionally due to local fiestas / holidays)

Q.    How do you gain access?

a. Normally our customers leave us with a set of keys but should you prefer to leave keys with a key holder we can arrange to collect and return them after completion.

Q.    What if I select furniture and it does not fit in the property?

a. This is a situation we try to alleviate as we will visit your property before ordering to check everything will fit in its desired spot.

Q.   If I want to have other services Alarms, Grills, or Air Con. Can you organize this for me?

a. We can manage any additional installations you require and have a number of companies we work with to ensure that everything will run smoothly and without any complications.

Q.    I understand you will clean my property, what does that include?

a. We will clean all our mess as we install but we will also give your property a finish clean upon completion of the installation, this finish clean will include hanging voiles, making beds, and putting away the kitchen pack. Leaving your property ready to use from the second we close the front door.

Q.    I am not very good on picking colours etc.. and I am concerned that I may make some wrong decisions will you be able to advise me?

a. We will sit with you whilst you make your choices and point out any possible pitfalls and advise you, should you require it. Allow about two hours, but should you need longer, we will not rush you.

Q.    How will I know what is happening with my property?

a. We will keep you informed all the way through and send you pictures on completion if you are unable to visit at the time.

Q.   How do I pay for my furniture?

a. Normally payment is made by credit/ debit card, but Spanish cheques or bank transfers are also used.

Q. What are the payment terms?

a.   A  60% deposit is required when placing your order  and this is to be followed by a 30% second payment 4 weeks later with the final 10% payment upon our completion (normal start to finish time 6-7 weeks)
